Did you hear the new single? It has a lot of promise. They just played it at Bridge School. It’s called Nothing As It Seems. Heard the album might drop in May with a tour of Europe, and the US to follow.

I am a few weeks away from Pearl Jam getting incorporated into my essential live albums journey. I am interested to see whether that will impact my album rankings. I frankly haven’t really listened to Pearl Jam in a while because of that.

What will be included for Pearl Jam? LO2L?
A lot.
As many of the archival releases as I can access, Unplugged, the ape/man series from 2000 tour, the 2003 shows that were released to stores (Perth, Tokyo, State College, MSG 1, MSG 2 and Mansfield 3), Live at the Gorge 05/06, Benaroya Hall, Live on Two Legs, Live on Ten Legs…I think that is the extent of it? There may be something that saw official release that I missed.

There were those shows included with the deluxe reissue sets. A ‘92 show. ‘94 show. Then the vault shows. 4/3/94…

Using “essential” a bit haphazardly, no? Live on ten legs doesn’t need to be considered at all. If truly essential, Pearl Jam should have 1 or 2, LO2L and Benaroya?
Oh, it long ago twisted from “essential” live albums to “excessive” live albums. Or more realistically the journey to find the essential live albums. We’ve discovered diamonds and dug through rubbish along the way. 175 live albums so far and basically half way through. My goal to be more Pearl Jam inclusive came from how much I had ended up utilizing the Grateful Dead.
