KEXP Presents:
RAW POWER: A TRIBUTE TO THE STOOGES

featuring
Mike McCready (Pearl Jam, Mad Season)
Duff McKagan (Guns n’ Roses, Velvet Revolver)
Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Tuatara)
Mark Arm (Mudhoney)

FREE CONCERT ON THE ROOF OF PIKE PLACE MARKET
Sunday, August 23, 2015
7:00 p.m.

In anticipation of the extraordinary shows to come in the New Home , on Sunday, August 23 at 7:00 p.m., KEXP hosts RAW POWER, a one-of-a-kind FREE concert at another local landmark: Pike Place Market.

RAW POWER features four Seattle music icons — Mike McCready (Pearl Jam, Mad Season), Duff McKagan (Guns n’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Barrett Martin (Screaming Trees, Tuatara), and Mark Arm (Mudhoney) — performing their favorite songs by punk pioneers Iggy and the Stooges on the Pike Place Market rooftop. The RAW POWER band will play directly underneath the iconic Pike Place Market sign (near the corner of 1st Ave and Pike St). The streets around the market will be closed that evening to accommodate fans. This concert is free and open to the public.

The roof of Pike Place doesn't seem that sturdy.

Mudhoney played the roof of the Space Needle two summer ago. Mark Arm is all about roofs.

Hit this up today. Pretty cool. Mike sounded great. Apparently he was one of the main people who spearheaded this whole thing. Mark slayed the vocals, especially "TV Eye"

If I remember correctly, the set was:

Little Doll
TV Eye
I Got a Right
I Need Somebody
Down on the Street
Search and Destroy
Loose

A lot of the songs had jams in the middle so they lasted a bit longer. Show was probably about 45 minutes.

Would love to hear PJ cover Search and Destroy someday. The RHCP version is great, too.
