It's a different project for Jeff. A typical lockdown project.
I like his solo albums and I even think 'Heaven/Hell' is great. But somehow this Deaf Charlie feel like that John Wicks arranged a lot around some Jeff throwaway tracks. Tracks he didn't found worthy to be on his solo albums. That's just how this record feels to me.
I don't think this is as good as his solo records. But I liked 'Born to Win' and 'Comeback player of the year'''
Overall it's not that bad. But it's also not really doing a whole lot for me. I would rank it last for his side bands. RNDM > Three Fish > Tres Mts > Deaf Charlie.
Yeah, totally...they recently did a podcast and talked about that, this was a lockdown project that kept growing and growing. They also played live on Ohana this year so i can see this thing turning into a different thing in the future, maybe a place for Jeff to release more music.
Im also a big fan of Jeff´s albums, specially Atonement and Heaven/Hell.
