Definitely better live than in the studio. Lyrically not their best but a fun beat not the less.

Still true.
And I like Ghost & Cropduster too, a couple of the several songs where the title is not in the lyrics.
Riot Act is one of the mid era Pearl Jam albums where most of the good stuff is front loaded.

It's pretty even front to back for me. Can't Keep, Save You, Cropduster, Ghost - You Are, Get Right, Green Disease, Help Help, 1/2 Full, All or None.
Actually might even be more back loaded.

I've always felt like GD needs another verse to hit with any real impact. I'm imagining a bigger and more forceful build after a second verse, neither of which ever materializes. As it is now, it feels somewhat incomplete with untapped potential. It's like Ed gave up on it -- "Ah fuck it, that's good enough. Done"

I love Green Disease, it's great

but I do credit it as the first time they wrote a minor song with a major / happy chorus, which makes it partly responsible for Supersonic

I say its a precursor.

I'll say the Spritzy era began when they played Got Some on Conan.

Supersonic was the dawn of spritzy IMO. Got Some has something pleasingly off kilter about the verses. If you listen to the instrumental version of it there's some pretty interesting stuff going on that transcends 'spritzy'.

I love Big Wave.

But it's the first one of those songs for PJ, at least on one of the main studio albums.

I thought of that but I think it’s more authentic garage
