My monthly visit to the pit has me angry. What kind of a retard outright HATES this song? My guess is that the melody & chord sequence is too complex for them to follow.

Fucking love this song. The wife and I are renewing our vows for our 20th and this is on the playlist.

One of their best "love songs" for sure

A lovely song. Always thought it was a bit Jack Johnson'y with some Beatles. I liked it right away, but then it kind of faded for me. But I fell in love with it again after hearing some live boots and finding myself singing along. A very nice melody, and a unique song in the Pearl Jam catalog.

This is a weird one for me. I really like it but never want to listen to it.

Easily the best song on Self Titled, and is probably the best post Riot Act album track.

i don't agree, but I wouldn't argue

Absolutely on the first, and I'd probably agree on the second. I like a few of the LB tracks, but even my favorites are not as strong as this one. I love Mike and Eddie's work on this song; neither are typically known for restraint, but they both hold back until letting just enough sift through the cracks in the last few runs of the chorus.
I also love songs like this, where they follow a pop format but lyrically just blow through without returning to a repeated chorus.

I probably like "Man of the Hour" a little more than this one, but yes, this is beautiful.

I wish I still heard it like that. The discussions on the old board convinced me it was about religion and I can't shake it, even though I want to.

that this song was about religion?
