Guys, Binaural is so awesome. The MM brackets just further confirmed this for me. That's all for now.

I don't know about that. Vitalogy is pretty perfect. But Binaural used to sit near the bottom of the pile for me and it has grown in esteem like crazy over the last 10 years, so I guess anything is possible. That being said, I don't think Binaural can quite get to where I would rank Vitalogy in relation to all other bands. I think Vitalogy is an all time great record that holds its own with any great album by any band. Though I love Binaural, I'm not sure I'll ever feel that way about it.

I love most of the tracks on Binaural it's just the track flow of the disc. It's getting better for me.

For me it's a tie between Vitalogy and Binaural. That's why the 2000 shows where they play like 4-5 songs from Vitalogy are some of my favorites ever.

God almighty, why in the fuck wasn't "Soon Forget" used in a "Her Majesty" way on this record? Would've been absolutely perfect.

This is really the only question I have these days about how they tracked the record. Some days I think it unnecessarily breaks the tension of the last half of Binaural, while other times I feel it's absolutely appropriate as a momentary break for air in the midst of one of the heaviest segment of songs PJ ever put on an album.

I understand the larger idea of "breaking things up" but it's just way too much of a trifle coming after the epic Sleight of Hand.

As PJ found out, this is a tough album to track. Only thing I can think of as the final three cuts on the album...

Sleight of Hand
Light Years
Parting Ways

If you think about it, those songs could have an interesting conversation with one another. And Light Years provides a little lift between the two downers.

Guys once you realize this album is perfect, you will look less stupid. No retracking needed.

This article is really well written and I completely agree. Binaural just spent about 3 weeks on repeat in the car and it, along with Riot Act, are both at their best when listened to loudly - something that I think is unique to those albums in particular. Love both albums but there is really something special about Binaural.
