When I went to checkout, the shop owner struck up a conversation with me bc I was buying a Dead Moon record. He started chatting about them bc his shop/label is putting out a new Dead Moon record set. He was telling me that earlier this month, the band was honored at City Hall with their very own "Dead Moon Night" (the city has done this with several bands from the city). All cool, figured he was done talking. But he just kept going. He had no idea I was a PJ fan, or if I even cared about them, but he mentioned that EV was there and played with the band that night. He then started telling me about how Pearl Jam has been helping financially support the band through the years by playing their songs live in concert, and Dead Moon gets a pretty hefty royalty check every year (sales from live boots, live royalties, etc). And that the checks are a large part of their income and helps them live as working musicians.
Just thought it was kind of cool, and one of those things that you never really hear or think about.
