The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

If he's talking like this about it, then they haven't probably done shit together. Can't Deny Me was probably some leftover song that Eddie threw new lyrics on relevant to today's politics. This is kind of a bummer

From the ever so elusive backspacer ep
Heh. Yeah, at this point, if they stopped but periodically put out unreleased stuff, that might be better than new music from them. But I still want them to tour. :/

I'd be willing to bet that anything from the Backspacer EP probably ended up on Lightning Bolt.
All that EP optimism was probably just because they had the Getaway riff and a demo of Infallible.
I continue to consider Backspacer the end of this band’s story. And I think it would have worked well in that role. The logical end of the journey is the Not For You band learning to be ok with just having fun playing music, but also the final track is a mediation on regrets by a group that never reached their full potential.
Bonus: that way I can pretend Lightning Bolt doesn’t exist.

Mike guest-DJ'd on the radio yesterday during his interview. His playlist was:
Rolling Stones "Sway" The Clash "Lost in the Supermarket" Bob Dylan "Positively 4th Street" Courtney Barnett "City Looks Pretty" Sleater-Kinney "No Anthems" The Hula Bees "Some Friends" TKO "Gutter Boy" Overlord "Blame It On The Kids" Shadow "Tonight The Lights Go Out" Brandi Carlile "Whatever You Do" Sex Pistols "Holidays in the Sun" Pearl Jam "Daughter" (listener request. who makes that request?? sounded like some bullshit request that someone in The Pit would make about some personal situation.)
Also, Mike is a terrible interview on the radio. Either that, or he just drank 17 Jolt sodas before going on-air.

Today I was sitting in Starbucks, and two guys walked in and sat down next to me. Apparently one guy was absolutely crushed by a recent break up or divorce and he was talking to a pastor/church guy (whatever they are called) about it. They started having a deep and awkward conversation in a very public and quiet place, but whatever. I tried to stay out of it.
What raised the event to pure comedy was that Starbucks decided to go on a 2 hour Pearl Jam Marathon of ALL their saddest songs. Not just the hits like Black and Betterman, but songs like Come Back, Sleeping By Myself, Other Side, Light Years, Parting Ways, Nothingman, Sleight of Hand, etc. One after the other.
At one point, the pastor guy went to the bathroom and the dumped guy was left alone as Last Kiss started playing.
I started laughing at that point, and I think he noticed.

You were at Starbucks for a long time.
