I've long been a big Force of Nature detractor (though, reviewing this thread quickly, I'm apparently far FAR from the worst).
This may sound weird, but Dark Matter (the album) has somehow made me rethink/re-experience this song. And.... I'm pretty sure I love it now.
Weird.
Not weird, I thought of this one several times listening to new album. I think it's just a little out of place thematically in the overall catalog.

That’s odd cos this is one of my favourites from this end of their career and it suffers from the curse of pj midtempo but it’s elevated by the music and lyrics. Yet it’s got a lot of brothers and sisters in the new one and I can’t warm to them at all.

there does seem to be a lot of strands connecting FoN to much of Dark Matter
I haven’t tuned into the lyrics (or themes) on DM but the separation or distance (or break up?) or relationship power dynamic does seem to come up a lot on it.
Ed’s POV seems to hold the overview now on those songs now where it maybe doesn’t on FON I’m talking out of my ass but it feels right
