Very good modern Pearl Jam song. The first live video in this thread is awful for Pearl Jam. The second is better, but nowhere close to the studio version.
Well that was my point as a fan and devotee of the song. It just doesn't seem to work live.
There are a great many pearl jam songs that are disasters in the live setting.

I heard a live FoN recently that I thought was quite superior to the album version. I'll have to find it again. I remember the intro in particular was much improved.

What happened to this one? Seems like one of few songs from the last decade of PJ that has completely vanished from the live show.

Would love to hear it also.

Was maybe this, but I'm not sure. Can hear Stone a lot more than on the album.

I was most disappointed with this album, but I did always like this song a lot. Definitely my favorite on this album and possibly (??) my favorite of the last two albums? LB’s title track (esp live versions) is the only song off the top of my head I can think of that I may like more. Johnny Guitar is the other song on this one love, because it’s just so fun if you don’t take it seriously.

Might be my favorite from the last two. For some reason that used-to-death chord progression in the chorus works - I'll credit Ed for that. The pre-chorus/end of verse G to the F is really nice. Just a lot to love. I'll have to check the two shows I saw on the BS tour to see if I got it. The two most forgettable shows of the many I've seen.

Since the first listen I’ve wanted Ed to repeat the bridge lines: “makes me ache, makes me shake. Is it so wrong to think?” 2 more times or so. Random request but it’s the best part of an otherwise unmemorable song. Kind of fun to strum I guess.
