The weird thing to me is whatever the heck they're doing with the Dark Matter video. At this point I have to assume it doesn't exist because it makes zero sense not to have released it by now. Of course, they somehow thought that releasing 3 videos for DOTC was a good idea so who knows.

Hi everyone. New to the boards as a poster, though I lurked everyday during the countdown to the release of Gigaton… decades long listener and great admirer of the band. I’m a Husband, father and working shmo. The wife and took a second mortgage to buy tickets to n2 at Fenway in September. Favorite pj album, right now, is binaural, though I find something to love on each release. really enjoyed the banter, humor, and great insight and analysis on these boards. Very much looking forward to new release. Anyways, hi.
I noticed your username. What is preferred speaker set up? Dolby Atmos? Quality bookshelf speakers? Bluetooth headphones? Your phone's speakers? Your answer is very important.
Ha. “Headinspeakers” is a reference to a lyric of the national’s tune “day that I die” … “years and years I used to put my head inside the speakers in the hallway when you’d get too high and talk forever”. Great song and band. I am no audiophile but I’m trying to be. I need a guide …. Please help me. Bottom line though, If I want to really listen and focus, I retreat to office where I have a pair of klipsch reference RP-600Ms with a subwoofer. Sounds great to me. Refuse to listen to music over phone speakers.
Great tune, Day I Die is one my fav National songs Welcome!

Is it me, or have things been oddly quiet since the release of DM? Maybe we’re on the precipice of the media deluge but, I’m kind of surprised there has been nothing and we’re a month out.
Seems like there was a lot more “activity” in the lead up to Gig.

maybe they saw trag’s feedback on the production and decided to re-record it?

Wottman is currently having a mental breakdown and trying to rethink this record due to Trag’s production takes.
Imagine the power….

Agreed, especially since they are claiming there best work ever? Its been really quiet for a couple weeks. The Dark Matter lyric posts over social media stopped a week or so?

Worrying quote from Mojo article:
Quote:
"My involvement in [Dark Matter] was pretty minimal" sighs Goddard. "I just emailed over some riffs. I haven't been in the studio with the band since about 2010."
