I almost like this song. I hate the way Ed sings the chorus though. It should be "Yellow moon ON THE RISE" not "Yeeeaaaaaaaaallow moonontherise". Musically it's very Neil Youngy.
Exactly my issue with the song. He easily could've come up with something better, there. Like "yehellow mooooooon on the rise." Such terrible phrasing.

Yeah Mikey rescued it. He's has a few nice guitar parts on the record and he wrote "Sirens" (which I happen to like a lot). If it weren't for Mike this could be an even bigger pile of shit.
I'm really not feeling this today, I feel like there's a song I could like in there somewhere, but between that fucking guitar, the piano towards the end and some of eddies vocals......I dunno
Round and round we go, where we stop nobody knows? C'Mon Eddie.
Yeah this song just isn't doing it for me. Listening party said "haunting guitar ala nothing as it seems "
.....yeah no. The song is boring , the chorus is suuuper boring , and the Mike solo's aren't anything too great. It's just a whatever song, sounds like something from a soundtrack, kind of Into The Wild. It tries to soar, but it just can't. It reminds me of Long Road which is another song I never really liked either.
likes rhythmic things that butt up against each other

When I first heard it I thought it sounded like something they were working on between Ten and Vs. It has a slight feel of Acoustic #2 or whatever that was on the PJ20 soundtrack. It's like he's still trying to work out a melody for the song and avoids some of the abrupt melodic intervals that Ed uses in his newer songs - that makes sense given that this is a Jeff song. If this was a Lost Dog from that era or Riot Act I wouldn't have been surprised.
This would have worked better in tandem with either MFS and Pendulum - the placement of it is odd but that may be due to its late inclusion.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

I heard that acoustic demo right away in the vocals.
