I don't think Riot Act sounded anything like Bon Jovi

I agree, but i don't think any of their music sounds like bon jovi

i've often thought yield and vitalogy were just one synth away from being slippery when wet.

I wasn't as instantly enamored with all of what are now my favorite PJ records but I definitely loved "Riot Act" right away. I remember being so disappointed with the overall reaction to it, the reviews and whatnot--I really felt like they were working at a creative level that people just refused to see because of who they were. Such a great album...

Growing up, Bon Jovi was my jam. They were probably my favorite band until I heard Nirvana.

Nothing wrong with bon jovi, aside from their stuff that gets played on country radio

i didnt understand that the band was called Bon Jovi. And then he was a solo artist and it was Jon Bon Jovi...what the fuck?

There's nothing right with Bon Jovi either, unless you really need someone to fill in five minutes of dead air in "old people parade" style on your idiotic morning show.

It's really not so complicated.

Bon Jovi was fine music for a six to eleven year old suburban twit like me. And this world is a much better place because of Livin' on a Prayer. If nothing else, that song justifies Bon fucking Jovi.

Oh, I liked him when I was a little boy too. He's perfect music for children. And nobody else, ever. Which is fine.

A few months later the only songs I find myself wanting to hear are Swallowed Whole, Sleeping by Myself, and Pendulum.
