I don't 'make it sound like' anything unless you're reading between the lines I actually wrote. You're right, they were doing all of that. None of it's anything to do with making Pearl Jam music, but it was pretty clever, because they managed to make it look like it was to do with Pearl Jam music.

I don't know if BoB is stopping them from recording other tracks, Pendulum was a backspacer outtake BoB didn't care for, they just worked on it without him ( and came up with some of the more interesting music they have in a while imo). Didn't Eddie say something about not whoring out b sides once?

Ten: Wash, Footsteps, Yellow Ledbetter, Dirty Frank
Vs: Alone
Vitalogy: out of my mind
No Code: Black Red Yellow, Deadman
Yield: U, leatherman
Binaural: nothing
Riot Act: Down, Save You, Other Side
S/T: Nothing
Backspacer: Nothing
Lightning bolt: nothing

Undone was on a version of one of the Riot Act singles, right? Maybe Love Boat Captain?

EDIT: It was the international versions of I Am Mine.

I would count State and Breath among the Ten "b sides," since they WERE regular band sessions (as opposed to, say, Face of Love) and were released within the era in which they were recorded. They just weren't on a Maxi single.

Also, the difference in outtake releases is even more pronounced when you consider that Vs, Vitalogy, and No Code all came out in a span of about 3 years, while S/T-Lightning Bolt represents a span of seven years. Putting outtakes on singles or soundtracks would do a lot more to help the downtime now than it did back then.

I was taking this to be actual b-sides. If you're widening the net you can throw on hard to imagine, leaving here, crazy mary, gremmie, and whale song.

Otherwise I agree. What they did with Ole was really cool. It's just too bad that it was Ole instead of, say, Cold Confession.

I don't really count covers, which is stupid and stubborn of me, but otherwise I totally agree with everything you said here.

Also, how the shit did this record suddenly sell 37,000 worldwide last week? Did somebody unfreeze Lloyd Dobbler, or whatever that guy's name was? Or is Ten Club Amazoning copies to push for certification?

ABC must have replayed the Grey's Anatomy episode with Future Days in it.

I can't begin to tell you how many of the things referred to in this sentence are terribly unclear to me.

I wonder how much of that is from Australia/New Zealand given the tour starts in a week.

It's strange they never released a b-side during Binaural considering how much material they had for that album. Also, those were two random singles.

thought the same...they even did a video for Do The Evolution, the SVT video..two years after that, bum new album no promotion at all...the weirdest part for me is that i dont remember that at all, i mean, in my world PJ was everywhere with Binaural...but they really didnt promote it at all.

Maybe because Ed was getting a divorce?

Ten, hands down, wins the best b-sides debate. Thanks Stip.

The positive qualities of all Ten outtakes combined is still not enough to compete with Dead Man, according to my very factual and beyond-debate objective data taken from science and only science so you might as well give up.
