Listened to My Father's Son today for first time in forever and even though I always liked it I seriously underrated that song. It's hands down the best on the record and it gives me hope they could still construct something great. It's got such great forward momentum and that bridge solidifies its place in top 10 PRAMG.

I really hope this isn't the band's final album before calling it quits.
What difference does it make? If they release another album, then that one will become their worst album. LB will rise slightly in RM's collective estimation because there will be a new worst Pearl Jam album(same as what happened to their actual worst album, Backspacer). And then RMers will bemoan the new one and hope that it isn't the last one before calling it quits. And on and on and on...

Though, I don't think anyone thought Yield was shit when it dropped.
oh yeah, i remember a lot of guys saying it lacked power. They were already listening to Korn or Manson and were surprised on how bland Yield was. And the hatred towards Binaural...ill never forget that.

Wow, really? That's nuts. I definitely remember the Binaural hate (I think that still exists to a good degree). But not Yield. That's nuts. I really thought everyone loved the hell out of that from the drop. "Return to Form" and all that.

Based upon my high school experiences it started with Vs., but didn’t really get kicking until Vitalogy. They’ve really been second guessed the whole time. Except maybe Ten which everyone loved.
