Dave A. commented on youtube that he always tried to serve the song and that nothing will ever again match Pearl Jam live 91-94. Also said he was never a punk rock guy and was more of a fan of funk, Zeppelin, Foghat, and Zappa among others. It's a pinned comment to a drum teacher reacting to Dave playing Go.
I think one of the strenght of the band is how different they sound live in all the eras. I love 91/94 but im more interested on what they did live in 96 or 98 and no doubt about it, 2000 /05 /06 my favorite live era for the band.

There’s probably a thread for this but if you could sit down and chop it up with any member of the band past or present, how could you not choose Dave A?

Because there's eight other people to choose from, that's how.

Biased as he might be, Dave A is the most likely to give authentic responses to your questions. If you want contrived or non-answers, Ed or Jeff. Unfettered positivity..? Mike. Stone would be interesting but he’s gonna skirt. If not Dave A, I’d say Jack. Dave K doesn’t like to talk about PJ.
VS is a weird one for me. It has some of their best songs (Daughter, Elderly woman, RVM, Indifference) but also some real duds (Rats, Glorified G, lLeash, Dissident)…
