That one guitar part in the outro sounds so much like the Cure. I love it!
Very 80’s, but sounds more like the Edge to me
Agreed on the tone at the beginning of the outro sounding U2ish but the key that kicks in around 2:56 is very reminiscent of Pictures of You to my ears.
HER EYES WERE SOFT AND SYMPATHIZED A VISION SO UNCOMPROMISED FLOATED IN
AS SHE PULLED THE BOOK UP OFF THE SHELF HER DRESSING GOWN AND NOTHING ELSE BUT A SECRET GRIN
AND I ALWAYS HAD ONE QUESTION FREE OF ALL SUGGESTION DO I SAY OR KEEP IT IN?
YOU CAN FIND ME HERE
WAITING FOR YOUR MESSAGE TO COME CAN YOU HEAL, CAN YOU FEEL THE CHAINS IN MY HEART
WAITING FOR A MESSAGE TO COME CAN YOU HEAL, CAN YOU FEEL THE CHANGE IN MY HEART
IN MY HEART
SHE LAID THE BOOK UPON THE DESK OPENED TO THE PAGE I ASKED COULD THAT BE THE ONE?
AS SHE SMILED AND PLAYED A MINOR CHORD IN A KEY I NEVER HEARD BEFORE ONE SONG AND IT WAS DONE
YOU CAN FIND ME HERE,...,
WAITING FOR YOUR MESSAGE TO COME CAN YOU HEAL, CAN YOU FEEL THE CHAINS IN MY HEART
WAITING FOR A MESSAGE TO COME CAN YOU HEAL, CAN YOU FEEL THE CHANGE IN MY HEART
I'D OPEN THE DOOR, I'D LET YOU IN I WOULD OPEN IT IF YOU CAME BUT IF IT'S NOT YOU KNOCKING IT'S STAYING CLOSED
I'D OPEN THE DOOR, SHED ALL MY SKIN ALLOW FOR A BIT OF GRACE FOR IN MY DREAM YOU TOLD ME TO LET THE LONGING GO AND THE PROMISE I STILL HOLD WON'T TELL A SOUL.

Didn’t really make an impression on first listen… have just had on repeat 10 times. The second “Waiting for a message to come” melody is what I needed right now. “can you feel it”

I am enjoying this one more with each listen
I’m still on the upward curve 12 spins in. Beautiful.

I like the subtle bit of gravel /distortion on “dream”. So many little details.
And mentioned elsewhere but the hard panning of Stone and Mike like they are on stage is incredible. Like Watt said - you can hear each of them and that’s what I always loved about PJ was the different personality of each instrument which they lost on some records - could have been any studio musician. But now we’ve got the off kilter stone rhythms and ear candy, Mike blasting off and firing off little fills while waiting for his solo to come around, Jeff pounding and bouncing around and through the harmonic structure and Matt being Matt

Hmm, this one didn't strike me on first or second listen, but with headphones and more listens, I boosted it a point.
Also, if you haven't watched the recent Stone web interview, look for it. I haven't seen Stone so enthused about Pearl Jam in recent memory. He seems truly happy and I love that and what it means for the band.
Love this one. The guitar at 2:42 is pure U2. It's basically just the little interlude riff from Pride (In The Name of Love) and that next riff with the heavy chorus applied is 80s The Cure all over. Wearing its influences on its sleeve but it's a really well constructed song.
