The music is incredible, but the semi-spoken vocal melody and delivery on the chorus is SO ANNOYING to the point that it almost makes me want to skip the song if it wasn't for the awesome ending. Eddie screwed this one up, I'm hoping that he somehow saves the chorus when they play it live.

The chorus to this song is my favorite part in an album I didn't like a whole lot, and it's down to three reasons: 1. the transition from the pre-chorus, which is startling because of the sudden modulation, 2. the cool dancey pattern Matt starts playing on the cymbals, and 3. Ed sounding like fucking Count von Count from Sesame Street in the chorus. Fun and unexpected ways to build tension and urgency. Really wish I heard more of this in the rest of the album.

that's the way
I kind of wish he'd used some of this energy in Running
counterpoint: the delivery of the chorus is the coolest thing he's done with his non-singing voice in ages

Yeah, for me the first minute of the song, that first verse through the chorus, is one of my high points on the record. The chorus for everything Jorge said, and I think Ed's delivery on the first verse is right on.
There’s a part in the first verse of this one that reminds of “Are you ready for it?”

I wish the last scream by Eddie didn't fade out or wasn't fucked with in production. They should have recorded what ever scream he can come up with these days.
Huh. It's interesting how people's opinions can be so polarizing. I feel that at times he's about to sing the Monster Mash and I don't find that cool, I find that cheesy and slightly cringeworthy. In my opinion it makes an otherwise good song sound like Evacuation II. I guess you guys probably also like Eddie's vocal delivery on Bushleaguer. I personally don't.

Eddie probably moved away from the microphone himself when he felt that his voice was about to crack. Check out their performances on Howard Stern and you'll see what I'm talking about. You can't blame him though, the guy isn't exactly 20 years old anymore.
