Definitely scrapped sessions. One day it will see the light of the bootleg world, and let’s hope whoever drops that at least has the sense of humor to title it “Forthcoming”

Pearl Jam's new track from their forthcoming album on Monkeywrench/Republic Records is out now!
“Can’t Deny Me” was co-produced by Pearl Jam and Brendan O'Brien. The track was recorded in Seattle last month and released as a surprise early download to Ten Club members last Saturday.
Eddie wrote the song's lyrics set to music written by Mike. Jeff created the single's artwork in collaboration with PJ's longtime Videographer, Kevin Shuss.
“Can’t Deny Me” is available now in the SHOP and via all digital download and streaming services.
Pearl Jam kicks off their TOUR of South America in Santiago, Chile today.

No doubt this will attain mythical status within the Jamily, not unlike Chrome Dreams or Electric Nebraska. To think they're sitting on an absolute gold-mine of music...Can't Deny Me was but a sumptuous tease of what they've got hidden away.

agreed, and I like Ed's snarling performance as well, it reminds me of Vitalogy; considering the lyrics are far less embarrassing than some that made it onto albums in recent years, I like it more than some here and maybe most

If the lyrics weren't so dumb sounding, I probably would've been okay with CDM.
The instrumental track is actually really great and has excellent cowbell clarity. It really pops.
rumor was that Tchad Blake recorded the original cowbell but then the band didn’t like the direction he was taking things and then brought in Brendan to mix the cowbell and didnt like how he interpreted it and then asked the guy that does the commercial overdubs for Chi Chi’s restaurant to take a swing at it and they were blown away by his work and the all you can eat chips and salsa
