This album is going to drop at the same time as my second child, so much like Gigaton was my pandemic soundtrack, this will probably always be associated with this one big event. And nappy changing.
The album will drop when I have a week off. Planning a few days travelling, but returning home on the 18th. So a drop on the 19th is perfect. Hopefully in the morning like today.

Haven't heard anyone get too excited that we're getting a CD/blu-ray deluxe package with hi-res audio and Dolby Atmos. You could listen to Dolby on Apple Music, a'course, but, it's nice to hear about a physical release this time.

Album out April 19th
Tracklist “Scared Of Fear” “React/Respond” “Wreckage” “Dark Matter” “Won’t Tell” “Upper Hand” “Waiting For Stevie” “Running” “Something Special” “Got To Give” “Setting Sun”
Same day as the new Taylor Swift? Odd choice.
Think of all the fans of both that will have to choose.
No telling how long the kiddies have been saving their chocolate milk money to set aside for both.

I’ll be one. I’ll make time for both.
I suppose #1 albums don’t mean much anymore, but from an advertising standpoint, being able to lead with, “Supporting their ___ (Idk) #1 album…” is off the table. Wouldn’t a #1 still be a feather in the cap for these old boys?

Went to pre-order the vinyl and CD. $50 for shipping is bonkers. I’ll just get the Amazon versions with free shipping. Love to support the local business but asking me to spend $115 for one CD and one record is simply not reasonable.

45 minutes for the 10 remaining songs is highly encouraging. Because yeah a couple of those will almost certainly be sub-4 minutes, which leaves plenty of runtime for several longer tracks. Factor in that these first 3.5 minutes are good, and all signs just might point to "great."
