Okay I must be close to being overserved because I was about to move Something Special into a top tier song lol. It's not but it's also not the pariah I thought it was. It's still an EV solo song but it's a pretty damn good one.

That's it... what a lot of us have been reacting to

If I buy this from Apple music
A: Is it the atmos mix B: does it sound better than spotify
I think the answer is yes, but I want to confirm
But I have to get to bed. I get out of work at 5 and then I want to give this a good 5-6 listens
A. Buying it from iTunes does not grant you access to the Atmos mx, stip...Stream or deluxe CD only.
The folks buying it are receiving the Apple Digital master, which, I believe, is the 24-bit stereo version pegged down to 16-bits.
For those saying they bought the Atmos mix, unfortunately, Apple doesn't sell their Atmos mixes, otherwise I would own Talking Heads entire discography in the format; they are streaming exclusives.
B. Sorry, I haven't listened via Spotify
Really appreciated this experience with you all, as well.

It's all a matter of timing too... 10 years I probably would have hated a song like Won't Tell, now I could listen to it on a desert island
Age & wisdom have a funny way of sneaking up on you like that, don't they?

I'm probably the last person to ask but I have a decent little amp and decent/good headphones ($300/$400 range I don't remember) and the Spotify release sounds pretty fantastic with some EQ. I too would like to check out the Atmos mix, or an HD mix, but I'm not sure my equipment would benefit.

Yes. But as all of us have gotten older we realize how hard that is to accomplish. Probably why a young punky fanboi like Watt made sense for this record.

Makes the record all the more special

I'll listen to WFS once more with you from the east coast and then I have got to do the responsible thing and sleep.
Yeah, I need to sleep, Taylor Swift will literally take over my life tomorrow lol...it's been a ton of fun RM. Thanks to everyone who shared some thoughts. It's been a blast to do this again with a really good album...

If you simply swapped Something Special with Pendulum and left the rest of the album exactly the same this could be a top three album in their entire catalog. I can’t believe what I took as Eddie being hyperbolic regarding this as their best work ever had some truth rooted in the statement, but he was being sincere. This is really strong. Makes me proud as a champion of this band for three decades.

Scared of Fear -> WFS is the best 7 song run since Once -> Oceans. Tell me why I’m wrong.
It's a pretty great run of songs...Vitalogy is also close but, Pry To is a combo breaker lol.
Yes that’s where I went…. If only Corduroy at 7. 1-6 on Avocado pretty decent but not close. And Vs still has best opening 1-3.
