I assume this saying ‘the new album is really special for the Ten Club’ right?
Or did you get the impression they meant something else?

He specifically said referring to the show that they had something very special for the 10c. No idea what that means

Stone hinted at some different production for this tour didn’t he? Must be linked I guess

Zane's a twat. I think he's referring to the entire PJ fanbase as 'the Ten Club'. As in - all PJ fans will appreciate this interview.

RM giving it 75 four or five star reviews out of 83 non-Watt scores is pretty nuts even taking into account the new album high...

The fact they put this together in about 4 weeks total is what makes it good. Guarantee that songs like Upper Hand or Waiting For Stevie would've been picked apart or cut in to pieces, of which only some parts used later, if it was done in their usual over-demo process.

First of all, this place is awesome. I asked if this was worth hunting down and had multiple people send me a link right away. You people rule and keep me coming back here.

i was finally able to sit down and listen to this front to back. holy shit. this is like everything great about pearl jam. big outros, anthemic w/o being cheese, weird turns, heavy punkish songs, quieter acoustic based songs, eddie fucking vedder. i literally just got done listening to the whole thing, and it was like it just kept getting better and better. i dunno how andrew watt did it, but he got pearl jam to make the album most of the world wanted.

matt cameron and mike mccready stuck out the most on first listen. the album sounds great.

on first listen, top 3: waiting for stevie, upper hand, react respond

Raz and I are on our 3rd play through. We are both delightfully pleased.

My preliminary view of the album is it's a step down from the surprisingly great Gigaton, not as good S/T either, but better than either Lightning Bolt or Backspacer.

I'll be interested to find out whether the live versions help soften my views on the record overall once the songs are freed from the production issues; that certainly happened with S/T.
