"Can't Deny Me", huh? Yeah, because nothing says 'rock and roll rebellion' like a bunch of middle-aged dudes getting all huffy and puffy about politics. And don't even get me started on the lyrics - "You may be rich but you can't deny me"? Really? Because last time I checked, rich people were doing just fine denying everyone else pretty much everything. But sure, let's all pretend like we're sticking it to the man by playing it safe and releasing a generic anti-establishment anthem. Yawn.

Oh, you want me to go on? Alright, let's see here. So, Pearl Jam. Yeah, they used to be pretty cool, right? Back in the '90s, when grunge was still a thing and everyone was all about flannel shirts and angst. But now? I don't know, man. Seems like they're just going through the motions. And this song? "Can't Deny Me"? I mean, I get it, I do. People are angry. There's a lot of injustice in the world. But is this really the best they could come up with?
Let's talk about the music for a second. It's fine, I guess. Just kind of...there. Nothing that'll blow your mind or anything. And the lyrics? Well, like I said earlier, they're pretty generic. "You can't control and you can't deny me"? Ooh, burn. I'm sure all those politicians and billionaires are quaking in their boots now that Eddie Vedder's telling them off. And don't even get me started on the video. Just a bunch of random images thrown together to make it look like they care about something.
Look, I'm not saying that musicians shouldn't speak out about issues that matter to them. They absolutely should. But there's a way to do it that's powerful and effective, and then there's this. It's like Pearl Jam is just going through the motions, trying to cash in on the whole "resistance" thing without really saying anything meaningful. And that's just sad, man. Sad.
