These are all great songs and could've made any of their albums in the last 15 years significantly stronger.

i forgot all about these songs. i'm pretty sure they were as good as anything they've released in the last 20 years.
It's wild to me how finished they were, Let It Ride especially, that they never even became b-sides. 'Let it Ride' wasn't even mentioned in the Rolling Stone article (I think it was) where 2x4 and CC were mentioned. Song just disappeared. Same thing with 'Hold On' back in the day. I don't think anything about that song every leaked before Lost Dogs came out, unlike Brother and Goat and Just a Girl. I'm convinced after listening to the Rarities Unreleased Cuts comp that had 'Hold On' been put on an album, it would've been one of my favorite tracks.

These songs are soo good. They should be released properly. Lost Dogs 2 really should be a priority for them next year. 'Can't deny me' was a really crappy single, but as a Lost Dogs I can probably enjoy it as a stupid throwaway song, like 'dont gimme no lip'. For Lost Dogs anything goes....

I love both of these songs and still can not believe they did not release them. Avocado could be my least favorite PJ album, or is at least in my bottom 3, but if they included these two songs it would move way up in the rankings.
The vibe and the lyrics of both of them are terrific. I remember when they leaked, someone interpreted Let It Ride as being about the Terri Schiavo situation which makes sense with the timing of it being written.

That ending verse or outro to Let it Ride may be my favorite thing Eddie's "done" (or that I've heard, I should say) in quite a while. I still remember being really struck by it on first listen.

These songs sound like a style the album may have gone but they changed directions like some of the other instrumentals that leaked. In a way it mirrors how CDM is the direction Gigaton was going before they scrapped it. I think they have more in common with Riot Act than they do Avocado.

The last two minutes of LIR are so good that it is one of the few songs I immediately want to listen to again upon completion.
