I like the Pink Floyd 'Echoes' sounding tremolo guitar on Cold Confession.

There's some space in there. Not since All Or None have I heard such restraint and I like.
It's nice hearing things with a bit of room to breath rather than all O'Briened to the max out.

I don't know why but listening to Cold Confession gave me the same feeling I had the first time I listened to Crazy Mary way back in the early-mid 90's when I was just a teenager. ..

Ummm...
Avocado EP?
There seems to be a history of unreleased stuff being 'leaked' at opportune times, which make me think these things are orchestrated as part of a campaign to generate interest - I mean these have been around for 7 years and they only leak now? Ten Club are just here to see what the reaction is. If this is the case I would rather they released a two-track Avocado EP or put these out as Xmas singles.
I don't understand why this band continues to leave some of its best material off its albums.

This song is so good. It's giving me chills.
I haven't felt this way about a PJ song in a long time.

Thanks to whoever leaked these.
I gotta say, I'm not hearing what everyone else is. "Cold Confession" sounds like a two-chord improv, and Ed's vocal is about as shaky and rough as it gets. "Let it Ride" is better, but the ending is the only part that really has any guts.
Having said that, if they're demos, they're demos, and so they're not worth picking apart too much.

Still haven't heard them but judging by the chat I do not want these to be bsides. That would almost prove this band has performed musical suicide.

What if these are newer versions of old songs reworked for the new album? Cold confession sounds very Zeppelin/Floyd-ish...and mike has said the new album is floyd-ish.

Then this album is going to be jarring as I don't see Cold Confession near LB or MYM. CC could be a closer though.

I wish more songs felt like they had this looser feel rather than sounding all over analysed and arranged and rearranged digitally. It would be interesting to hear them record old school all in a room, minimal overdubs, no more than 3-4 takes on the instrumental tracking.

For a band that seems to pride themselves on their live show you'd think they'd try that sort of approach (maybe with Steve Albini). I'd like to see them mix up their studio approach a bit. Different producers too. Maybe create an album that has no limits and then if they can't play it live, so what.
