I'm surprised people don't love Severed Hand as much as I do. I think it's top-shelf PJ all the way. The fun intro-into-heavy rock groove; the great lyrics; the AMAZING bridge; Ed's voice; and Mike's solo at the end. Seems like most people around here sort of shrug this one off? I was floored when they played it on TV, and it's only gotten better with age.

I love this one. I think Severed Hand is one of the highlights on the album.

Top two from the album for me.

I like severed hand, but the intro felt flat in the original mastering and the chorus needs to either be trippier, moodier, or more dynamically distinct from the rest of the song.

That really is a great Binaural bridge, though.

Is there a way to listen to the spotify mix without using spotify? The 2017 mix on ridleybradout mega is the BOB mix, right?

Has anyone from the band ever said where the spotify mix came from and who did it?

It sucks that it's not available anywhere else. I'd love to hear it, but I'm a youtube music user.

No, it has never been talked. Around the time it came out i thought it was the brendan mix because it was coming next.

It’s the old mix, just a new master iirc.

I always suspected that it was just a case of someone uploading the wrong file batch, or some other human error event.

Agree. It is, I think, my favorite song on this album.

I like Severed Hand, my main issue with it is that its riff is the same as Porch

Yeah but they clearly meant to do that, and take that riff in a whole different direction ultimately. It’s part of the genius of the song for me.

Except it's not.

Similar, yeah, but not the same riff.

Yeah, I definitely hear the similarities in the main riff, but Severed Hand doesn't evoke Porch for me on the whole. I feel like that they're solidly their own beasts.
