A lot of the time I feel like there's not enough going on in these songs. There's not much specific to listen for. Maybe it's the production. I still love it though. 4/5.
Since we seem to be ranking post-Yield.

Binaural
Riot Act
Gigaton

man, it's still really wild to think about how they went from No Code to S/T in only 10 years.

"Marker in the Sand" is so underrated

This has been my favorite S/T tune since day one and it always surprises me how people say the chorus is weak -- I think it's beautiful, redemptive, fulfilling, uplifting, any positive adjective like that I can throw at it. I love the way it just completely deflates the tension and fury of the verses. Such a great tune.

The songs on this album have aged really well for me but I overwhelmingly prefer the live versions. The record itself is probably the one I find myself going back to least.

usually I'd rather listen to anything in studio over live stuff (unless I'm at a gig) but I went to Reading Festival 2006 and they were excellent, S/T songs and all

I loved that show. Was disappointed they didn't play more off of S/T at the time but I guess it was a festival. The versions of Even Flow and Blood were off the chain, plus Sad was just such a great surprise.

This is the Pearl Jam album that has risen the highest from my original feelings. When it came out, I was feeling burnt out on the band (I had them in regular rotation from 2000/01 or so, through to 2005), and I felt like this album downplayed most of what I found most interesting about the band. It turned me off their music for a while, compounded by the weakness of Backspacer 3 years later.

A couple years ago, I started to warm up to the album thanks mostly to the Brickwallhater remaster and some strong defense from fans on here. Now when I listen to it, I like it as much as something like Ten, Vs., or Gigaton. It's mostly really good with a few clunkers, but not as strong to me as Binaural or Yield.

So, I don't think I had ever fully listened to the 2017 Brenden O'Brien mix before yesterday. What an interesting experience that was.

I’ve still never heard it. Would you recommend it?

It didn't give me a headache after the first 6 songs like the original version, so that's good.

I don't come back to it at all, but I burnt it to the ground when it came out.

What a year, what a tour.

4 stars.

You weren't directing this to me, but, MC's drums don't sound as much like slapping wet cellophane anymore, so, there's that.

Don't expect any revelations, but, it's a definite improvement.
