Baba O'Reilly aside, I cant think of a tune that benefits from the fiddle. But do prove me wrong.

I'm not denying the existence of music that has the fiddle as a core component. Give me some credit. I'm saying that in my humble opinion its use in modern music tends to do more harm than good. Case in point - Hold Back The Tears by Neil Young; the version on American Stars and Bars with the fiddle sounds twee compared with the raw and emotional acoustic version sans fiddle. As I say, it's purely personal taste. Nails down a blackboard to me.

Wilco's Jesus Etc. would really be missing something without those fiddles

I wasn't too fond of his singing in this performance. But he's awesome all over Gigaton.

I'm talking about his live performances. It's like he is chewing the words, it's really annoying.

I literally can't think of a single song that wouldn't be improved by a fiddle.

I only know one Gary Glitter song and it would be much better with a fiddle in it.

Rest assured that Gary was never one to pass up the chance of a fiddle.

I've always enjoyed this song better as an Ed solo song. I don't get all the hate for it.
