she come on like a stone but she don't know where from she was thrown like a burning meteor ????
Shes looking for a place to land She said you got yourselves some sand And whatever you (?) she took as (?)
Now she comes (?) With her new replanted seeds soon you're thrown down on your knees And then you're dead
And then before you know the weeds are (obesly?) overgrown With the all the wild seeds she sows in your sleep
you gotta know you'll never let her go Shes a lightning bolt lightning boltx2
Always something and never nothing isn't that the way we're taught to dream, to dream looking through the worn out pages stages when you knew not who to be until the lightning strike sets you free
you gotta know you'll never let her go Shes a lightning bolt lightning boltx2
crashing so many waves (really ed, again?) ??? shoreline every day ????? choose to sing (i got nothing for this verse basically)
And then before you know the weeds are (obesly?) overgrown With the all the wild seeds she sows in your sleep
ksghfjkghkjhgkjhgjkgfhblarg blargh blargh with you hey hey yeah hey yeah (i think this is an actual verse as opposed to random adlibs but i got nothing)
Shes a lightning bolt never let her go Shes a lightning bolt never let her go
wehoo
JAAAMMMM
These are probably mostly wrong
Like force of nature with slightly less cheese maybe.
My Guess: Crashing stormy waves Erode her shoreline every day Until the castle of her……turns to sand
i definitely hear castle, just didn't know what to put round it.
Man, I fuckin love it. Just sounds like a great song to blast while driving. I mean, I hope the rest of the album has a bit more substance, but I am really liking this.

If that word is 'meteor', then it's far more likely that the previous words are 'stone' and 'thrown'. Otherwise it's an awful mixed metaphor. Which I wouldn't put past Ed, but yeah.

My wife and I both officially think this song is OK but we hope that some of the Mike fiddling at the end is cut. It's kind of boring and the song itself doesn't earn it.

Some Unthought Known. Some Force of Nature. Not hearing anything new or different. The lyrics from what i can make out are lame. If this song has been gestating for a long time and these are the words Ed sat on forever than wow. He's semi-retired. I heard "She comes on like a storm" which is a boring line. If it's "stone", that's gawd awful. Hopefully not.
Listening last night from Earthcam I kinda liked the music from a distance. Definitely has a Who vibe. Seems like they could have done something nice with this in the studio. From the videos this morning it's sounding a little too Backspacer poppy after promises of Pink Floyd atmosphere.
I may end up really liking this but first listens, meh.

Our choices are worst song opening lyric "she comes on like a stone" or confused metaphor. Pick your poison.
'Storm' and 'stone' are both pretty bad. If not bad, then at least stereotypically 'rock' and unimaginative. Rock has used stone and storm metaphors since forever.

I thought of that, but i'm definitely hearing grown now. So i dunno.
No ones got anything other than obesely overgrown? lol
I like mike's noodling. The best part of this song are the jammy bits. And the chorus
so this is the song they thought fitting of titling the record after, huh?
MYM is better than this song, which seems cut from the same uninspired cloth that unthought known, amongst the waves, etc were cut from. not impressed.

Go for it Ed! The kidney stone simile is just sitting there waiting for you.

What songs are included in your 'etc.' here?

Alright, so I was there, and on the field, and got to hear a very crystal clear version of the song. My initial thoughts:
This is a step forward and continued progress for the band. The song has lift, dynamics, slower sections with melody, and then the rocking parts that take the song to a different place. Not sure if it comes through on the YouTube audio, but there are some nice Binaural era arpeggios going on. And Mike is using an ebow and just shredding it. I'm not sure we've ever seen him use that. Maybe comes from his soundtrack work. If I were to describe it, I'd say its Binaural meets Backspacer. It still has the melodic tightness I like in Backspacer (which I'm a fan of, suck it haters) but some added song structure from the Ed binaural tracks. The hook of the song is Backspacer and the jam is Binaural live era to me. Just my opinion. I think this is what Mike was talking about as an extension of Backspacer. It's got the uplift and punch of Backspacer (for which some people don't want to be uplifted I guess?) It takes some of the stuff they developed and stretched it out, made it jammier and more solos.
I know some people want them to go backwards like No Code era or something. But to me that's akin to when Ten era fans got mad when they got into the middle period. They're still moving forward.
I'll post a more complete review of the show. Very unique experience to say the least.
