I agree that the fade out on the album is a fucking crime. Just as the song is hitting that amazing groove where everyone is absolutely killing it, it fades out. I guarantee that was a Brendan O'Brien idea. Motherfucker.

Lightning Bolt has some serious balls when they play it live. That extended jam at the end is killer, and in that Global Citizen video you can tell they're all digging it. Everyone is in the groove, and it sounds heavy and full.

This is one of those songs where Ed just balls to the wall screaming is perfect. His heart is totally in it, and it doesn't need delicate and polished vocals. However, that particular version finds Ed in good voice for the majority of the song which is refreshing.

I like this song's spacey qualities. Gives me a Binaural feel sometimes.

Lightning Bolt is a masterfully constructed song

Any song with Ed and Beyoncé can’t be a highlight of anything.

Because Ed is 70 and Beyoncé sucks.

She's made some good records.

Ed was a better singer than her on that song, though, and that's something I didn't expect.

I've fallen completely in love with this song again. The first verse is clunky and uninteresting but after that I just love every second of this song.

i like this song. to me, it's the twin brother of unthought known, which i found odd that most people hate.

What the album overall is lacking is more moments like the last 2 minutes or so of this song. It's one of the rare moments over the past few albums where I can see a vision for PJ 2.0

The last two minutes of this song are what completely ruin it for me. Like they're really swinging for the fences but falling short. And the mix on that part is disgusting.
