50 mins in. what an interview
Stern trying to pierce the veil
forgot about Ed's fake-humble response approach to everything
pretending not to remember stuff
bullshit
we want the dirt
just cry it out

There's a reason Stern has lasted this long as an interviewer. He's very good.
Builds up towards questions in good faith so the interviewee doesnt try to get away with flippant answers, lets the interviewee speak rather than interrupting. If Stern think it's getting in to territory they don't want to discuss or is vague, he pivots to something else but then comes back and tries again.
I listened to it today, in three parts. It's a very good interview... I'd say the best Ed interview I've heard.
I listened about 50 minutes and the stuff about Ed´s family...i mean i heard this story so many times and yet, this one felt new. Also interesting to hear Ed talk about Weiland so little..¨yeah, i never met him¨.

I probably hadn’t listened to Stern in 15 years. I really enjoyed the interview. Agree that this was probably the most interesting Ed interview.
I always figured that Letterman thing was pre-arranged...like, they met and hit it off somewhere, Dave coaxed him into a little joke of an appearance, and then became a trusted friend they could rely on when promoting albums.
The truth is so much funnier.
This interview has more insight, revelation, and discovery to it than that fucking documentary did.
