This is my pretty typical breakdown for all PJ albums that aren't the first three or Backspacer. There's just a bit of movement in terms of how many songs I'd throw in the love category. Pearl Jam very rarely dips below 'fine, but skippable'

what always kinds of surprises me about these lists for later albums is that, for all the shellacking they take around here, people are generally fine with the bulk of the album. Not favorites, and perhaps disappointing given the esteem with which we hold our favorites, but not the unmitigated disaster that we tend to associate with it. And I say I'm surprised because this is how I feel about the majority of pearl jam's albums. They have three perfect or near perfect records, and then a series of mixed bags with a few songs I love, a few songs I like, a few songs that I don't mind but generally skip, and occasionally 1-2 I just won't listen to.
