Edit: Will keep a running list of files I've received here. There are some issues with how the track names are formatted -- multiple senders giving me the same files with slightly different allocations for track/album naming fields. Have tried to designate track names / album names in the way that seems to have been the intention of whoever first encoded these.

Thanks to certain users for sharing with me.

pj1991-08-05.stu.unk.sbeok.flac16t01.mp3
This is the same song as "Demo 1" (quoted above), but it's a live practice recording with the addition of some loose Ed vocals. Seems like they are just trying to figure out a vocal melody over the instrumental. Sounds like a simple boombox recording, really lo-fi. Song is incomplete, with some loose chatter at the end. Note that this file is duplicated in .flac format, and the .flac file lists the album as “Galleria Potato Head, basement: Belltown, Washington, USA - August”

pj1991-08-05.stu.unk.sbeok.flac16t02.mp3
This is a live practice recording of Wash. Sounds like from the same session as above. Chatter at the end, plus some loose vamping on the Alive riff. No .flac for this file.

Demo 1 Sept 91 Side B 05 Instrumental #4
This is the same track that was posted on youtube (quoted above in this post). MP3 format.

01. Dave_s Stuff - Angel Instrumental
This is a solo acoustic practice recording. No vocals. Sounds like the original genesis of the idea. WAV format.

02. Dave_s Stuff - Angel Instrumental
Solo acoustic plus some sort of hand drum. Single mic practice recording. Loose and raw. WAV format.

Jam
"Flea, John Frusciante, Dave Abbruzzese • Peppers and Dave"
Same jam that’s been floating around Youtube for a bit. Any idea who’s doing the vocal on this? MP3 format.

Evenflow (Instrumental) (Reel 2)
Jan 12, 13 Stuff (Side A)
Instrumental version of Evenflow. Nothing really interesting to note. MP3

State of Love and Trust x4 01 State of Love and Trust
Full band version with backing vocals. I’d have to compare to the officially released versions to see if maybe it’s a rough mix? Or it’s just a studio demo. MP3 format.

1993.02.11 Part 1 03 W.M.A
Live practice version of WMA. Some loose vocals, chatter at the end. WAV format.

Crazy Mary
Two-track demo version. Sounds like they recorded the rhythm guitar and drums in one take, then hard-panned those tracks to the left channel so they could overdub vocals and electric guitar on the right channel. MP3 format.

Cypress Hill - A Zip A Tally
Instrumental version of Real Thing, with Stone’s backing vocals included. WAV format.

Sept 20th Deep and Tortured (Side B) 01 Deep
Studio demo of Deep, with vocals. Some random Ed vocals after the song ends. WAV format.

September 20 Side A 01 Release
Studio demo of Release, with vocals. WAV format.

VS Tape 01 Alone (Instrumental)
Studio demo of Alone. WAV format.

1992.01.12 Evenflow Session Side A 01
Studio demo with vocals. WAV format.

Dave’s Song (Take 2)
"The Site: San Rafael, California, USA - March 4, 1993"
Instrumental practice/demo version of Go. FLAC format.

Police Man (W.M.A. Demo) 2
Instrumental practice version of WMA. Single mic. Some ripping guitar solo. Ed’s lyrics are buried in the background. MP3 file.

Police Man demo (W.M.A.)
Alternate instrumental practice version of WMA. Single mic. MP3 file.

Tortured demo (Angel)
Single guitar + Ed vocal. Eddie’s clearly trying out vocal ideas, as he tells the guitarist at one point to “Keep going.” MP3 file.

###

1993-02-25 Tape
As implied by the title, this seems to be a bunch of practice recordings from late February ‘93, featuring just Stone, Jeff, and Dave. All recordings seem to be made with just a single mic, though you can hear the individual parts well enough. All tracks in FLAC format.

1993-02-25 01 Glorified G
The song is very much a work in progress, with various stops and some chatter as they work out their parts. Seems like this particular take was an attempt to nail down the structure of the bridge.

1993-02-25 02 Glorified G
The song is coming together now, with Stone, Jeff, and Dave having a firm grasp on the intro/verse/bridge. They go into a meandering jam after the bridge, which suggests they haven’t really worked out the rest of the song yet.

1993-02-25 03 Jam
Stone and Dave seem to be fairly locked in; Jeff seems to be struggling to vibe with what’s going on. Not terribly interesting, this one. Just a lot of aimless guitar riffing and funk-rock drumming by Dave. Dave in particular goes off the rails towards the end, like he’s this close to just taking a drum solo. Interesting to think about Jeff’s past comments about struggling to connect with Dave musically. Based on the studio output, I’d always been kind of skeptical of that, because it seemed like they vibed really well. But hearing something like this, and now I’m thinking that maybe Jeff had to put in more effort than he felt was reasonable to create some cohesive rhythm parts with Dave.

1993-02-25 04 Go
This is an eight-minute track, but I’m not sure if this is the “eight-minute version of Go” that has previously been rumored, because they stop the song a couple times throughout. Seems like they’ve got a good handle on the intro/verse/pre-chorus riffs, but there’s no chorus yet.

1993-02-25 05 Jam
This one was a nice surprise, with Jeff and Dave locked into a driving rock riff that feels spiritually similar to Go and Animal, but is its own thing. Stone is really letting it rip over the rhythm section. I could imagine this jam being developed further and sitting comfortably on Vs, possibly even taking the spot of one of the first two tracks.

1993-02-25 06 Cready Stomp
This isn’t exactly Cready Stomp. It’s similar in tone, key, and tempo, but it’s not really the same riff. This is a bit darker and more bass-driven. They spend ten minutes loosely exploring the idea, and while it never turns into the track we heard on the Vs. reissue, they’re similar enough that I wouldn’t be surprised if this were the genesis for that track.

1993-02-25 07 Jam (Helter Skelter)
“I thought you were gonna go into Helter Skelter,” says someone at the very top of this recording. And then they do NOT go into Helter Skelter, but rather their own jam that is vaguely similar to the Beatles track. Pretty boring stuff, this one. Dave seems to think it’s amazing, though.

Dave A, huh? So, we'll never see it as an official release.

Changed the thread title. Anyone else able to embed the other tracks from this? I’m without a computer.

That was my guess. I'd have to find those files in order to compare.

I offered to fully master and organize this guy's entire cassette collection, since that kind of shit is what I basically do for a living.

But he wanted to do a ton of little pussy uploads over a long period of time where he leaks out 2 or 3 songs at a time, I guess to prolong the glory.

I decided I wanted nothing to do with it.

So you guys can expect shitty youtube uploads like this for years to come.

Pffftt, he's not really easy in letting people touch this stuff. He thinks he's sitting on the most exclusive PJ content ever. Im sure there's some cool stuff on these tapes. Mostly those Vs instrumentals. But 90% will be listened by us just one or two times...

"This unlabeled cassette includes a new source for the PJ show in Berlin on March 9, 1992. While this show is widely available in SBD quality, this new source is not..."

I've never heard nor seen a soundboard quality version of that show.

Yes, but it's a pity to me because the owner of these unique tapes is clearly more interested in being infamous than in actually preserving and restoring the tapes properly, regardless of what he will be sharing publicly.
