It seems like Ed is frequently the target of RM's attacks on the band's lack of creative output this past decade. But, what exactly has Stone been doing? Writing classics like Amongst the Waves or Let the Records Play? Where is his solo show at some charity event for CEOs and balding celebrities? Why isn't he making some amateur art project/show and touring the country? Where is his skate park? Why isn't he popping up Instagram playing with his dogs or demoing songs?

I have a purely speculative theory that stone, and we all know was raised wealthy, maybe regards rock ‘n’ roll as sort of a silly pursuit at the stage in his life. Well I wish his musical output was much better, I do appreciate the various social efforts he’s become involved with The

I think they all feel this way to a certain extent. The big difference with Stone is they chopped his balls off and made a necklace out of them for Ed to wear somewhere in the mid to late 90s.

i don't doubt that Stone has had a rough go the past couple of years with the passing of Cornell and Shawn Smith. But at the same time long before those events, his perceived lack of enthusiasm with the band (both onstage and off) is palpable. Maybe that's just his 50-year-old persona, or maybe he just takes music very seriously, i dunno. He just gives off the air that he doesn't want to be there.
I also don't doubt that maybe he's in a creative rut. It happens. Was it SVT, or some interview around the time of Yield, where he wondered if some day his creativity would just run out? He was a beast through Binaural, and his contributions to Riot Act weren't anything to scoff at. But agreed, the last 10-12 years have been pretty bad.
