There are a few famous ones, like how Scott Weiland hits some of Early Ed's vocal tics on "Plush," but what are some other less obvious ones?

I always felt that the instrumental jam on Radiohead's "2+2=5" (at around 2:25) had a real mid-period Pearl Jam vibe

I don’t think it’s fair to say that Weiland sounded like Ed. STP were already doing their thing around the time PJ got started. And to Weiland’s credit, he pivoted to something more his own after all the Ed/Scott comparisons became so widespread.

You could just as easily say that Ed sounded like Scott.

Which are the famous ones? The one that immediately stands out is Cumbersome by Seven Mary Three.

I think most of the replies in here will be songs where the singer sounds like early Eddie Vedder. Scott Stapp, etc. I'm interested in the ones that are similar musically. Following.

Creed's first two albums have better guitar riffs than Pearl Jam entire catalog so in that vain, yes they got it wrong.

I didn't really say Weiland was imitating Ed, but it really doesn't matter if it's intentional or not for the purposes of this thread. In fact, I'd say it's more interesting if it isn't intentional

PJ has a few songs that have an MC5 vibe.

Gaslight Anthem and Kings of Leon both have some elements of PJ musically.

Silverchair and Mudhoney also come to mind

Right sorry:

MC5: Kick out the Jams (Of course), Shaking Street - A PJ song like STBC is basically a MC5 song.

Silverchair: Anything off their first album

Kings: Slow Night So Long, The Bucket

Gaslight Anthem: 59' Sound, American Slang

Tremonti is one of the best guitarists of his generation. I didn't think that was controversial. PJ is the better band by a healthy margin but in terms of guitar playing ,CREED (Tremonti) is better.

Sure, and I wasn't trying to attack your post specifically. It just seems like there's long been a popular narrative that Weiland was aping Ed, and that's never sat well with me.

I don't think he was either. Though Plush is very similar sounding, coincident or not. I actually thought he veered closer to an Alice in Chains type of vocal on that first album.

Only if you like that kind of sound. I'd take the guitars from DTE over any Tremonti riff.
