I finally got a physical copy when I pre-ordered Earthlings. I’m going to give it a few more listens as a collection before I serve judgement. I like it enough so far but hardly consider it essential.

I don’t know about essential but this continues to grow on me every time I hear a song off it. I haven’t listened to it as a full album in a while though, apparently this will soon change though.
I got the CD a few weeks ago, and <surprise!> it sounded a lot better than streaming. As much as I love the Into the Wild soundtrack, I think a lot of these songs are superior.
I prefer "Flag Day," for example, to "Rise," "Society," "Far Behind," etc. Though, "Guaranteed" and "Long Nights" and "End of the Road" are pretty untouchable.
And both of Olivia's two lead vocals are tremendous.

I have not listened to this at all.
I heard the cover of Drive, which is such a terrible chore that I never really checked out the original works, and now I just figure i’ll leave it.
Someday, years from now when it’s all long over and I wish I could have the chance to experience something (anything) Pearl Jam adjacent as new to me and unfamiliar, one final time…maybe I’ll have the opportunity to give this a spin.
I actually think this is an incredible soundtrack. The stories weave together wonderfully. Cat power pulls it all together.
I’m biased as I think Glen Hansard is an incredible songwriter and performer and I’m beyond the moon that him and Ed finally put something out.
The different voices throughout the music all blend beautiful to tell a decent enough story.
Also hearing Ed deliver the first few lines of drive at Ohana we’re spine chilling and a reminder that even at a reduced power….his voice still as the ability to illicit what few others can.

It was an underwhelming first listen that really grew on me. Drive is not the best place to begin. I like it, but Eddie covering an REM song is an easy sell for me. This is worth spending some time with. You can save this for those final days.

I don't come back to this that often, but I do like the title track and have continued to return to it fairly often, along with a few of the Cat Power songs.
