I avoided calling Mirroball my favorite Neil Young record for a very long time, as i didnt want to seem to eager to love everything pearl jam did, or come across as some dude who only enjoyed it because pearl jam...

But goddamnit, it is top tier Neil and would definitely be in discussion for being in his top 5.

Yeah, same.

I listen to a lot of 80s Neil more than some of the 70s stuff that I think I wore out a bit but mirrorball always sounds fresh

Mirrorball is top 10 for sure. I started out really liking it, and it's only grown over the years.

A Jack Irons career highlight. Scenery has always been a standout. The solo in Song X is one of my favorite Neil solos. Eddie's part in Peace and Love is one of my favorite Eddie things.

Broken Arrow was a good one too
Mirrorball kind of took that sound up a notch

Love Jack's drumming on Mirrorball and Merkinball
Neil's solo on I got ID is one of my all time favorites

I love Broken Arrow too - CH’s version of Mirrorball.

I kinda hate that McCready never does the ID solo the way Neil does. They’re in different pentonic keys. I also think ID is the superior title.

All the players upped their game for the Godfather of Grunge.

Id as in the opposite of ego right. Not ID, as in Eddie wrote a song about his trip to the DMV.
