being in the crowd for a Dave A era show obv a very different experience than listening to an average recording of it 20+ years later on a pair of headphones in your bedroom at night next to a box of man sized tissues

If this is the case, at least it just means that the guy in charge is a dolt, not (necessarily) that they're out of other options.

It's pretty depressing to think the band's archival releases are dependent on whatever totally awesome shows this bozo went to in the 90s.

No arguments there. There have been some great shows in this series, though -- the most frustrating thing for me is the length of time in between releases (presumably because of the vinyl production -- Bruce Springsteen releases one of these per month, but only on CD and FLAC/mp3/etc.) and the blind spots to certain eras.

Im surprised that people are saying this isn't a good show. I was listening recently and the Even Flow was maybe one of the best live performances Ive ever heard from the band. Eddie was incredible on Go. But maybe I haven't heard enough 93 shows to compare. Recommendations of a better one?

gave this a spin today! been a long time. Ed’s voice sounds great. And Dave A’s energy in classic form. What an era for PJ. If only someone could go back in time and take away Ed’s fugazi albums and anti-establishment girlfriend, we might still have this band

You're off-base here: Ed only became increasingly lame after he split with Beth, who was much cooler than he was.

Thinking of editing this into the PJ Live Releases info page on wiki.
