The board's server will undergo upgrade maintenance tonight, Nov 5, 2014, beginning approximately around 10 PM ET. Prepare for some possible down time during this process.

I may not like Evacuation all that much (2 stars), but I love me some Binaural / the outtakes / the 2000 tour.
I agree....I'd love to see another Binaural. They were onto something with Sleight of Hand, which still blows my mind on that record.
Nothing as it Seems, Insignificance, and Sleight of Hand all genuinely move, inspire and astound me every time I hear them. Binaural is full of really special songs but those three never cease to blow me away. Even all these years later. I get chills listening to them.

Im glad you came around on Binaural.
SOH is so good. It wins the title of "most improved" song for me.
Insignificance is the best thing the band has done since Matt Cameron joined.
I still don't get why people love "Insignificance" so much. Should not be put in the same category as NAIS or SOH.
For me it's the raw emotion and the way the excellent lyrics ride the excellent melody. Along with Eds excellent delivery, phrasing and control, the ingredients mix to produce a very visceral and tactile listening experience they keeps me yearning for more.

Me too, friend. But to be clear, I've always felt this way about those three songs specifically.
Songs from the Binaural era I like better than Evacuation (in no particular order):
Nothing As It Seems Puzzles & Games Insignificance Sleight Of Hand Thin Air Sad Fatal In The Moonlight Education Breakerfall God's Dice Hitchhiker Thunderclap Parting Ways Anything In Between Rival Of The Girl
I think that's it. I'm pretty sure I like Evacuation better than Light Years, and Last Kiss. I definitely like it better than Soon Forget.
Does anyone have a favorite live version of this song? I know it's a harder one to pull off live, but I gotta believe they nailed it more than a few times.
The only time they played it perfectly was Tampa 2000 - the version on TB2K. All of the other 2000 versions have various mistakes (usually by Mike). It was played so infrequently after 2000, they never came close again. The worst performance ever was probably Philly 2009 #2, which I unfortunately witnessed.
Ouch, I'm sorry you had to suffer through that. Luckily, I was at that Tampa show so I guess I got what I was looking for. Thanks!
Uh, are you two forgetting the disaster in Washington, DC from 2008 when they attempted to play it?
I never heard it! It sounds epic as fuck though. Time to search the interwebs for it.
