It’s so much better than anything from the last two albums, and most of S/T.
And Let it Ride is pretty solid as well.
I actually prefer Let it Ride, but both are top notch.
I can see the potential but Eddie sounds terrible. Downtune that shit for the poor guy.
No way. He's great in it.
He should sing in a way that doesn't sound like he's straining to hit notes, in a way that doesn't make me cringe. NAIS, for example. Good range for Eddie. The problem with that song, though is that it doesn't develop into anything interesting.

Wasn’t Let it Ride from the RA sessions?
They leaked from the same disc, so I was just assuming they were from the same era.
BTW, would love to get my hands on the rest of those songs...
yeah, according to sources they both came from the first S/T session, right after they recorded "Someday at Christmas". "Let It Ride" was done again in studio a few months later. don't know which version we have available.

I remember the person that leaked those two to us apparently had a disc with like 11 songs on it. I'd paypal him like ten bucks if he could send me the rest of the songs.

man, even Backspacer had some songs from their sessions that weren't used. Lightning Bolt had nothing other than what's on the album
Do we know that for a fact?
it came from the recording sessions site that seems to be (somehow, and creepily) accurate. of course, these might not count other sessions they might have had at private home studios, etc

Bad take of Let it Ride, tree.
Do you have one where he's not grating?
It is also just an unreleased demo/outtake. And, for what it is, its pretty fantastic.
I admit it proves the point they're capable of more, even in this dark age of lethargy.
These songs are over a decade old.
But it shows they have bright ideas at least once in a while to which, for one reason or another, they don't follow through. They must have a specific formula they believe will sell records to an adhering fan base who just won't have the likes of these songs. And when lethargic and formulaic, creativity and effort is the enemy.

Thanks ‘snatch.
Maybe I was just remembering people saying it sounded like a RA song. Who knows. Maybe I just made that up because I think it sounds like a RA song. Cropduster, anyone?

No, it proves they used to. Nothing in the past 12 years says they still do
