Been listening to A Moon Shaped Pool for the past 30 minutes or so. My opinion has not changed. I do like Daydreamer though.
Let's stay on topic. Not necessarily enjoyable, but definitely a top-notch quality release from a band who's been around as long as Pearl Jam. And my argument is that the difference is effort. Because we know Pearl Jam has it in 'em, which makes it that much more insulting.
Do we know they have it in them, though? The last good thing I've heard is Cold Confession/Let it Ride, and weren't they from ST sessions?
you're right they don't

Everyone in their right minds love RA tons more than S/T but how is s/t more of a money grab? S/t wasnt much of a money grab reall, was it? Green Disease is even more in that direction than Gone, slightly anyway?

It's a confluence of things. Releasing a "brawny" album after two straight albums of murky introspection, the increased media profile (Vh1 Storytellers, first concept music video since 98, Rolling Stone cover, TV spots), and their transition to "legacy" band status.

S/T is much better than Riot Act
I go back and forth on these two.
I’m very fond of the high points of both and would be happy to never hear their respective low points again.
