I actually would not have guessed that some of the ST on songs were played as much as they were. Also kind of shocking Oceans hasn't made an appearance 100 times. I would have guessed Release was rarer.
And given how often everything else on Vitalogy is played I don't know why Tremor Christ and Satan's Bed don't show up more. It's not like either seems particularly hard to sing or play.

Interesting to see Deep there, im sure it was overplayed in the early years.
Also interesting than LB had only one song, their single and BS has three and The Fixer is not one of them.
Fixer and Lightning Bolt are both just under 100.
Honestly I'm surprised those albums are as well represented as they are. How many mega tours were there other than the two tours promoting each of those albums?

yeah, i understand.
Still is weird how i perceive some songs...for example LBC is a rarity these days, and Lightning Bolt felt like something you were going to get because thats the song they played from that album.
that's what I did it for, but the time has come to share it here
I thought the stuff you mentioned about the band not love No Code as an album was interesting (especially in the context of songs played live). Given this research, would you say the same about any of their other albums -- that the band doesn't like the album?
Binaural seems to be the one they dont quite like. Stone at least. And im not sure how they feel about LB.
I feel like I remember Stone saying he didn't like Vitalogy much. Is that true? Not sure why I have that in my head. But yeah it seems they each have one they don't care for as much. I'd love to hear their unfiltered thoughts on the BS and LB, specifically.

Mike said that at the time, he wasnt sure about Vitalogy. Havent heard Stone saying something bad about that album but he said that Binaural is the black sheep of all of them.
I think the band loves Backspacer and i guess they have some mixed feeling about LB with time.

I should probably have included the caveat that maybe it's not an album they think translates live. I think the same could be true of Binaural, as VG points out. And in fairness, there are 2 No Code songs and 2 Yield songs, and 2 Binaural songs in the 90s. But Vitalogy, just one album removed from No Code, has 8 of its 10 songs in the 100 range. No Code would just have 7 of 13, and Yield 7 of 12 (not counting red dot). So clearly some albums just don't enjoy the broad representation that the first 3 do. Riot Act is at 3 of 14 if you go 90+ (not counting Arc). For S/T to be ahead of Binaural and Riot Act (missing two majors tours), For Backspacer to be tied with Binaural (missing 3 major tours), and even for Lightning Bolt to not be far off (missing 4) is interesting.
Having said that Backspacer songs other than the really popular ones, really do not have very much representation in the sets. 4 90 plus songs and then a huge drop off. Amongst the Waves is at 50, The end is at 30, and nothing else is 20+. While they all had extra tours, you don't see that stark a contrast with the Binaural, Riot Act, and S/T runs). Interestingly the Lightning Bolt songs after the big two average a lot more play than the songs from Backspacer.

yeah, thats also true...how representative is the number of songs they actually do live. Backspacer has what...4 songs maybe? while they seem to get alone fine with more stuff from Binaural or ST, even if they dont play them more often.
Im going trough their 2000 tour and its also cool to hear how different they approach to their material change from tour to tour...for example, that tour is not a particularly good one for all the muscular songs from Ten or Vs, and its great for the Binaural material.

I am pretty happy with how well Gigaton has translated live so far. But Gigaton was crafted to stay within ranges that Eddie is pretty comfortable with these days so that should help keep a more varied rotation

Oh yeah, they nailed these songs live. They also feel super conected with the material, and they seem..more important? not sure how to put it into words but i feel in all the Gigaton songs there is a way more complex idea or feeling than in most of LB.
