This song was 4 stars when it came out, but the silly string versions and Ed's abandon of the actual lyrics gradually brought it down to a 1. But I listened to the studio cut last night with headphones, and my gosh it slays. I just LOVE Jeff's bass tone, and everything Jack is doing. And Ed sounds so great.
Im gonna give it a solid 3, because that's a fair point between the greatness of the studio version and the afterthought that the live version has transformed into.

I liked that slow version a lot. The studio version is fun for what it is, but feels disposable. I’ve never liked the live versions with either drummer, other than slow.
While I am generally not a fan of Jack’s drumming, Lukin and Brain of J are two places wher he shines for me
I think it's the only time the band really nailed this kind of thing. They maybe haven't tried a lot. But as far as the more frenetic, fast, punk rockers go, this one is perfect.

The only version of this song I like is the live version from Australia back in ‘95. It was called 100 Pacer on the “import” cd I had. There were virtually no lyrics, the the music was just perfect. Every version pales in comparison to that version.
