Watch the beginning for the full new song before Fugazi's I'm So Tired:
https://www.pscp.tv/G0tigers/1vAxRNyVdwXxl?autoplay&t=94River Cross (?)I always
start across that river
you're the sight distant now
As I got close it turned and widened
rising now fading out
Oh drifting off in the undertow
Can't spot a figure on dry land
After thoughts of safety
when in truth none to be had
None to be had
I used to tell time by my shadow
Til' thunder clouds they took a stage
The days will end as do the lights raise
Now read of the same page
Wide awake through this deepest night
Still waiting on the sun
As the hours seem to multiply
Find me a star to soldier on
Only then beneath the lion's paw
Knowing nothing can be tamed
can be tamed
Don't hold me down
Don't hold me down
Don't hold me down
Don't hold us down
Don't hold me down
Share the light
don't hold us down
Share the light
don't hold us down
Share the light
don't hold us down
Share the light
don't hold us down
Share the light
don't hold us down
Share the light
don't hold us down, down
Don't hold us down
Don't hold us down
hold us down

I said it in the tour thread, but this is one of the better Ed tunes in a long while.

hey adam how was that mynabirds record release show?
Mon September 11, 2017 9:40 pm
hey pete, that show was excellent and full of nice people. one of the highlights of my trip to Cali for sure. Mynabirds killed it and the opening band Winter were great also. are you seeing any of the upcoming shows?

I'll be at the Brooklyn show with Joey, but it's not a full band show.

The music benefits from the instrument change. Same old Ed progression/changes, but more delicately engaged. Less muscle memory involved, even if the composing ear is first drawn to the known.
It also lets him change to a more fitting key, without calling attention.
Lyrics are brutally terrible as written, but may work in delivery.
Give me a record of Ed funereal organ songs, with some slight New Orelans instrumentation. I'll probably like it a lot. But don't do this on a Pearl Jam record. Both the Gone Who-bombing and the snoozy Future Days arrangements emphasize weaknesses of pieces like this, instead of playing to strengths.

Some nice moments! Curious to hear the final version. Way better than "Out of Sand" for sure

This is the register Eddie should be focused on. Some real potential here.

I enjoyed that much more than anything else 'newish' I've heard from PJ recently. Noice.

hi Kurt
Wed September 13, 2017 2:41 am
why do folks think this is a pj song and not an eddie solo song?
Wed September 13, 2017 2:44 am
I'd definitely guess Ed solo.

I really liked the organ, less warbling, too.
Wed September 13, 2017 3:40 am
My God, do we need less warbling.
