When a band is but a fraction of Pearl Jam, but they aren't zero Pearl Jam.

Into the Fire is such a horrendous Tame Impala pastiche that it kind of soured me on the record for a few days but I'm sure I'll come back to it for further listening - Blind is definitely great.

The end of the album definitely fucked with my head. I thought something was going horribly wrong for a second.

Yeah Blind is my favorite.

Just wait until you see McCready buying one and snag from him. He won't mind.

Here for my drive by post of the year. Been listening to this album today and just wanted to say IT IS FUCKING GREAT! Matt Cameron you fucking beast I love you. While Pearl Jam are dicking around doing jack shit, you are writing killer tunes. Good shit.

Listen up, I'm a huge Tame Impala fan, and this song sounds nothing like Tame Impala. Like at all. Secondly, Matt Cameron has been writing riffs since before those mother fuckers in Tame Impala were in their daddy's sacks, so show some respect. He can do whatever he wants!

Into the Fire sounds like the soundtrack to a Sonic the Hedgehog zone

I've been listening to this, and it's already lost its luster. The first song is awesome. But the whole record basically sounds like outtakes from other albums I already love (Wellwater Conspiracy and Polvo being the most obvious). And Matt doesn't even drum on it! Why am I even listening to a Matt Cameron album where he doesn't play the drums?
The production is mostly good, but some of those synth plug-in sounds are bogus. And the album cover sucks. If Matt Cameron weren't in SG and PJ, there's no way I would have plunked down $8 for this. Not a bad record at all, but there's nothing that really elevates it beyond it feeling like a collection of demos.

As a disgruntled Pearl Jam fan, it's an interesting peek into their creative mechanism. As a fan of buying music, I feel a little ripped off.

You're so dramatic.

Just kidding.

Nah you're right.

There's some good moments on this but it didn't quite hit the spot for me either.

Isn't it actually old song ideas from over the past couple of years that he felt he needed to complete and get out there since Chris' death?
