Hope we get something of equal quality in the future, that focuses only on the band and the music (creation, performance; reaction).
Seriously. Would it be so hard to make another doc about the creation of a record?
we don't need a Brendan O'Brien documentary

Listening to the soundtrack album right now...
I was totally expecting to enjoy it, but I'm not impressed in the slightest. I can't put my finger on what it is, but a lot of the magic in their live performance is somehow gone for me.
And why does the audience sound like they are underwater? It's very, very strange. The music sounds clear, which is the most important thing I guess, but the crowd sounds like they were recorded with a mini-cassette recorder. It's weird.

At this point, I really would prefer a live show on blue ray than another documentary. We have Single Video Theory which will never be topped for an inside look at their creative process, the 2006 Italian tour doc, PJ20, and Lets Play Two. I am less interested in their words at this point than their performances.

Yes though I was most impressed when they released full shows “warts and all.”

Think of all of the PRAMG dollars available to them if they started selling videos of each show. I'm actually kind of surprised it hasn't been done by now.

I think they said something about that

i feel the same, but even phish, a band who seems to be way ahead of most when it comes to monetizing their live shows, doesn't do that. phish offers live video webcasts of most shows on their tours these days, near-immediate post show downloads (and choice to order made-to-order cds), and select physical live releases, but they've yet to offer regular tour shows on vod or disc, something they obviously seem fully capable of doing. so maybe there are some bigger hurdles to that process than we think. i hope it happens one day, though. with pj doing so few shows a tour now, at the very least i would be they could make some bank doing live webcasts of tour shows like phish does.

I just put this on to get my kid (who's never been to a concert) ready for Baltimore. Man, when Low Light kicks in at the beginning. Woah. Man, I love that.
