Ed and Glen did a private show in Cannes last night, thread up in Tour forum. Apparently Kelly Slater has a video on Instagram as well, but I don't feel like looking for it at work.

Pearl Jam is really 3-4 different bands. The Pearl Jam that I like is not the same Pearl Jam mikejasond likes, and neither of those bands are the Pearl Jam that Stip likes. Pearl Jam is a pretty diverse band.

I think you're overstating it a little bit. It's not like they're a bunch of completely different bands. I reckon the differences would be minimal or even imperceptible to a casual listener.

You're right, but within the context of pearl jam and the magnification of nuance that defines superfandom he's also not wrong

I think he's right for the most part. A lot of people love Binaural and Riot Act but I hate them, because to me it doesn't sound anything like the Pearl Jam I love (which is from Ten -> Vitalogy). And most of the things I loved about them are completely absent from those albums altogether.
Strangely I do like No Code a lot which seems to be a common opinion despite being also very different from Ten Era stuff.
