Tweet BBCode not showing up in Firefox?

Wed February 17, 2016 6:30 pm

Is anyone else having this problem? Works fine for me in Chrome, Safari, and Edge (eventual RIP for IE). The answer will help me determine if it's a real problem or if perhaps one of my Firefox addons is causing the problem.

Yeah, happening for me too. Latest version of FF - 44.0.2. Not sure if there's a filter or extension, just doing a couple of tests now.

I restarted FF in safe mode and the tweets are now showing, so there's definitely an extension or plugin that's causing it. Just a matter of trial and error to find which one.

whenever my BIL sends me a link to a tweet via text, it splits it into 2 texts, essentially killing the link. does anyone know if this is something on my end or his, and how to fix it? i feel bad because i usually just ignore the text and don't respond since i don't know what the heck he's sending me.

I think there's an option on most phones to enforce multiple sms messages (i.e. anything longer than 160 characters) to become an MMS. It may be either on your phone for the receiving of messages, or on his phone for sending.

Better still, why doesn't he send you the links via Messenger or something less archaic than text? :)

If you don't have the setting that Sarge mentioned, download and use Google messages app as your default text app, it won't break them up.

Sometimes in a group text with older family members using a combo of phone and tablet, the texts themselves split off and then I have two strings of group texts talking about the same thing, but people are missing from the newly formed second group. What the fuck is that about?
