When's the last time you shattered a phone screen? How did the situation resolve?
Currently it's been three days since I last shattered a screen. It was my new Pixel 6 with a Zagg screen protector. I had the case off briefly after going for a run. I take the case off on runs because it fits in my shorts pocket easier. The screen fell three feet directly on its face onto concrete and cracked so hard that the display went all black with a few green lines.
Thankfully I still had my (also shattered but useable) Pixel 3a, so I am currently awaiting the arrival of a refurbished 6 from the Google preferred care department. I will be out of town on a work trip when it arrives which kind of sucks. At least I can play wordle on the cracked burner phone.

One time I shattered a screen that was in my jeans pocket because I stepped on the jeans while changing into a men's restroom. Also running-related, since I was changing out of jeans and into exercise shorts.
I believe that phone was an iPhone 7 XL.

Once I was climbing up a mountain and I wanted to have easy access to my phone so I could take pictures, but it's annoying to have it in the front pocket. So I put it in my back pocket. Inevitably, I later sat on a rock and basically broke the poor thing in half

Once I got into an argument with my dad about some silly bullshit and I was in the driveway talking to my brother about it. In my excited state, I pulled my phone out of my pocket with a little too much vim and vigor and it flew away and fell on the pavement. Cracked screen big time

The seconds immediately following a gnarly shattering are always the hardest. Denial for a brief moment, then panic. In less than an hour, typically, the best among us turn that negativity into peace. Even zen. We can learn to hear the silence with present ears. Revel in the disconnect.
