Jesus, I can't imaging the anxiety I would have if I worried about sound quality this much. Kudos to you guys that have that good of an ear for this stuff.

It's wild just how much the sound signature of a pair of headphones changes when you replace the ear pads. Upgraded the pads on my Mezes to a nice set of velour pads and everything sounds much warmer and smoother.

It's a cliche at this point but my answer is the ATH M50x. If you're coming from Beats, they're the best entry-level option. Great everyday closed-back headphones at an affordable price. There's a bluetooth version too.

What's your price range in USD?
300 to 500 max maybe? im not really a headphones kind of guy, i use apple on the street and every know and then i use the beats at home, i like them fine because of how good the bass sounds.
I also have some bluetooth ones i barely used, i got them from an ad commercial and left them at my previous office until we moved them and now they are home.
